Causes of Fading

UV gives you a tan. That's nice, but your furniture, carpets, wall paper and favorite painting will be faded by it, too. Nothing can cause the value of your fine furnishings, wood flooring, artwork and fabrics to depreciate more quickly than discolouration and material degradation.

Solar Control film can prevent 99.9% of damaging UV radiation from entering a room through the windows.

Solar Heat is also a prime factor in the damage the sun can do to your furnishings, not only is it uncomfortable sitting in a overly hot room but this heat causes fading, discolouration and material breakdown.

Solar Control films can reduce the amount of heat from the sun by up to 80%.

Visible Light is the tricky one. It causes as much damage as heat but in most cases we want to have as much light as possible in our homes. In a conservatory situation where reducing the glare is necessary our best performing filims will reduce the glare by 70% but that same film on a small window in another room in the house may reduce light levels too far.

The solution is a film which offers the same 99.9%% UV shield as all of our films, reduces solar heat by up to a very respectable 60% and reduces the visible light by 30%. It is used successfully on shop windows to allow vision through the glass whilst still protecting the display from damage. It ticks all of the boxes!
